MODEL-BY-MODEL ENGINEERING

A matching diameter
is the start of a replacement review.

Send the full part number, suffix, drawing and electrical specification. LVDT Precision Metrology evaluates a proposed LVP configuration against the installation; listed brands are independent comparison references.

HSTA / HSTAR 750 are AC-operated families. HBM WA configurations include inductive bridge interfaces; HSD supply requirements must be checked by exact model. Solartron Orbit digital probes and analogue half-bridge probes require their own interface review. Neither is a generic direct RS485 or DC substitute.

Four checks decide whether a candidate can fit.

Geometry

Actual case diameter and tolerance, clamping zone, body length, core length, thread, datum, attachment and connector envelope. Nominal Ø19 mm and 3/4 inch (19.05 mm) are different.

Electrical chain

Excitation amplitude/frequency, sensitivity, phase, topology, supply, load, scaling, pinout and any digital protocol. A matching connector shell does not prove pin compatibility. Core and coil must be reviewed as a matched assembly; do not assume an existing core can be reused.

Mechanical duty

Working range, pre-travel, overtravel, rod guidance, side loads, spring force, tip thread and expected cycle duty.

Environment & acceptance

Temperature, medium, pressure, ingress, cable/connector seals, vibration and required qualification evidence. Agree acceptance criteria before release.
